Overview
Font schemes control the typefaces used for headings and body text across your entire presentation. The pptx.dev API supports over 20 font families, organized by category, so you can match your brand typography in a single parameter.
How Font Schemes Work
Set design.fontScheme in your OPF document. The API applies the font to all headings, body text, labels, and chart legends consistently.

Serif vs. Sans-Serif
- Sans-serif fonts (Arial, Calibri, Aptos) are easier to read on screens and work best for most presentation contexts.
- Serif fonts (Garamond, Georgia) convey authority and work well for executive communications and formal reports.
- Monospace fonts are best reserved for code snippets and technical content.
International Font Support
Check the actual characters against the selected font faces. A Latin font name does not imply CJK or Arabic coverage. Use the language reference and the host's explicit font policy, then verify the result in the target application; fallback and shaping can differ.
