How to Use It

Osterwalder's canvas is a standard format for business-model communication. Nine boxes: Key Partners, Key Activities, Key Resources, Value Propositions (center), Customer Relationships, Channels, Customer Segments, Cost Structure, Revenue Streams. Keep each box to 2-4 short phrases - the canvas is a summary, not an essay. Works for startup pitches, business planning sessions, and new-venture reviews. For executives unfamiliar with the format, add one line of explanation in a corner.
